Bridging businesses to community through young people.
Inspiring the next generation and reducing e-waste.
WEEE Renew aims to solve three key societal issues: Youth unemployment (Reignite),
The growing digital divide (Repurpose), and reducing e-waste (Recycle).
Our theory of change represented by our Impact model integrates these issues together through
hands-on work experience delivered by our team of young engineers and students.
WEEE Renew's process starts by reaching out to corporates and communities,
to collect outdated equipment, WEEE intercept and prevent harmful waste from reaching landfill.
Collecting, processing, and refurbishing devices allows young people to get the real-world hands-on
industry experience that is demanded in entry level roles. Donating equipment to local community centres
and VCO’s WEEE bridge the digital divide within the third sector. Finally surplus equipment is made available on our e-commerce platform
to help fund and support the work provided by our young people.
WEEE aim to reignite the passion of youth for IT by giving them first-hand experience working with corporations,
servicing communities, and building their own skills.
To prevent corporate e-waste from going to landfill we work with businesses to help them reach their sustainability goals,
by taking on their old equipment, processing and refurbishing those that can be re-used, and ethically disposing of those that cannot.
To date we have prevented: 1801 lbs of carbon waste going to landfill. 260 devices processed, 0.84 tons of equipment diverted from landfill.
We keep partnered local community centres, in-line with evolving digital standards, through repurposed and donated equipment.
Sparking a digital transformation of their centres.
Keeping them secure, increasing the efficiency of their work,
improving services for their beneficiaries.
Involving young people in every part of the process, builds up their confidence and skills letting them
explore their passion for IT whilst building the necessary foundations for a career.
